Mystery Blogger Award

Uncategorized / Friday, June 22nd, 2018

I am beyond humbled and happy dance excited to announce that Living Life Loving Us has been nominated for the Mystery Blogger Award by a wizard of words and fellow blogger.

I was nominated by the highly talented and uber creative Llama Punch. You want to visit the site just because of the name don’t you? I know I did. Once you get there you will find an incredibly talented writer who uses a play on words to evoke emotions and really get the gears turning with her views on life. You can find Llama Punch at www.llamapunchblog1103.wordpress.com

It’s pretty amazing being nominated for this award having only been blogging for less than 6 months. I’ve seen the award floating around but never expected to be a recipient.

So what is the Mystery Blogger Award? According to Okoto Enigma, it is an award “for amazing
bloggers with ingenious posts. Their blog not only captivates; it inspires and
motivates. They are one of the best out there, and they deserve every
recognition they get. This award is also for bloggers who find fun and
inspiration in blogging; and they do it with so much love and passion.”

I am so very very humbled to be nominated for this award. There is so much that blogging has done for me, our family and hopefully those that read the blog. It provides an outlet for all of the ideas, lessons learned, and random thoughts we have on a daily basis, it serves as wonderful compilation of experiences and journeys that we can share with our daughter when she’s older, and it is something that I hope can resonate with our readers. My one and only goal as I write every post is that someone, somewhere, is in the same boat and they will know they are not alone. Not alone in their confusion of parenting skills, not alone on their financial journey, not alone in their love of travel and not alone seeking the positive in a sometimes bumpy life.

So thank you to all of our readers, to our fellow bloggers, and to my parents for being the first to get excited about my little hobby that turned in to a passion!

Three Things About Me:

I was raised on a marina/farm and lived on a boat for a bit.

I am very outgoing and social on the outside. I try to find the best in everyone that I meet, and love listening to people talk, especially the patients at work. BUT on the inside I’m quite shy. I get overwhelmed in large groups and have a handful of friends that I trust with my life. It’s not that I’m being “fake”, it’s just that I have a shy little person living inside of me.

I love love love corny jokes. My dad is a master of puns and every time I hear a silly joke I think of him and it makes me smile.

 Questions Llama Punch Asked:

1.      What are three things in your life that never fail to make you smile when you think of them?

That’s easy. I just smiled thinking about the question. First, our daughter and all of the funny little faces that come along with a 14 month old. We tried for 3 years and ended up having to do IVF to get her so she’s our little miracle.

Second, my husband. He’s seen me at my best, at my worst, and everywhere in between and he still insists that he loves me. He’s also an incredible chef, a hulky and handsome firefighter, and gives one heck of a foot rub. Ladies stay calm ?

Finally, nature. I find this amazing tranquility, peace and happiness in all things nature. I’m kind of just in awe of everything around me and how beautiful it all is. I think I get that from my mom.

2.      If you could pick up and go anywhere in the world right now, where would you go?

Hard one. There are so many beautiful places that we’ve been, but Tuscany is what I always come back to when someone asks me this question. I don’t know if it is the MOST beautiful place we’ve been, but it was my favorite. The combination of the scenery, the tranquility and the overall feeling of love and family that is there is something nearly indescribable.

I hope to take our little girl there for an entire summer one year so that she can experience the same. No big plans, just playing in the Tuscan sun and being together as a family.

3.      Who has been the biggest influence in your life and why?

My parents have been the biggest influence on my life by far. Neither one of them separately could have influenced me at the same level. It was their combined view of the world that really made me who I am.

My mom is a ray of sunshine always trying to make people happy and fix the world, while my dad is quite a bit more reserved, matter of fact, and the source of all discipline (and jokes). Not sure how he created that combination but he did a heck of a job.

Together, they taught me to see the good in people but also life lessons and how to survive in the world. They taught me not to give up on something simply because it is hard, and that good things truly do come to those who work for it.

4.      When you refill the toilet paper do you place it rolls from the top or bottom?

ROLLS FROM THE TOP. Anyone who does it differently doesn’t know how to replace toilet paper.
